India (MNN) — During December, every dollar you give to Mission India’s 10-Day Children’s Bible Clubs will be matched up to $200,000 with their Light The Darkness Matching Challenge.
That’s a big deal for kids like eight-year-old Jansi who attend a Children’s Bible Club and meet Jesus for the first time.
Jansi’s father is an alcoholic Hindu, and her mother was possessed by evil spirits. But Jansi started going to the Bible Club with Mission India and loved it. At the Bible Club, kids hear Bible stories, sing songs, and play games with their friends while learning about God’s love for them.

One day, Jansi was singing a song she learned from Bible Club and her father asked about it. When Jansi shared the song with her father, he became angry and beat her because it was a Christian song. He banned Jansi from continuing to attend Children’s Bible Club.
Jansi’s teacher from Children’s Bible Club, Prithu, came to Jansi’s house to check on her. When Jansi’s father opened the door and asked why Prithu had come, her mother suddenly tried to attack Prithu. Through the power of Jesus Christ, the Bible Club teacher rebuked the evil spirits and healed Jansi’s mother.
Because of his wife’s healing, Jansi’s father allowed her to return to the Children’s Bible Club.
Today, Jansi and her mom have both accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and are growing in their new faith. Jansi’s father is still not a follower of Christ, but we can join Jansi and her mother in praying for him to eventually embrace a relationship with Jesus as well.
Mission India’s Erik* says Jansi’s story is not uncommon. “A lot of times, these children not only are changed by Jesus, but they actually go back to their families and communities and they share the Gospel with their parents and brothers and sisters. The ripple effect is just gigantic at times.”

Normally, it only costs $1 to send one child to a 10-Day Children’s Bible Club. However, with this matching grant, “This December, that $1 — if you just give a gift $1 — it enables two of those kids to go to a Children’s Bible Club!
