Headlining today’s news, Indonesian officials are preparing for the worst after a holiday of deadly violence. Mission Network News Greg Yoder tells us what happened. “Peter, houses of worship are tightly guarded after a deadly Christmas Eve church bombing campaign. Thousands of security forces are guarding these buildings after 15 people were killed and 100 injured as a result of this latest violence. No one’s claimed responsibility for the Christmas Eve attacks. Many of the bombs were placed in cars outside churches, and all detonated at around the same time of day. Several militant Islamic groups and separatist fighters in the restive northwestern province of Aceh have denied involvement in the bombings. Christian/Muslim violence has claimed some five-thousand lives. Indonesian officials are asking Muslims to mark the end of the month-long Ramadan fast without the usual rowdy celebrations.
