Middle East (MNN) — Live programs allow viewers to safely
interact from the privacy of their own homes. SAT-7, a Christian satellite
television ministry to the Middle East and North Africa, notes a high response
rate to live programs on their Arabic channel. They hope for the same with live
broadcasts on SAT-7 PARS. A generous donor has agreed to quadruple donations
through the end of this year.
SAT-7's David Harder says, "We're very excited about live programs, because they
will give the viewers a chance to instantly call in and ask questions–to ask about Jesus, to ask about who He is…why
He came as a baby on Earth, why He lived and why He died for us."
SAT-7 PARS airs their first live program today–on the Persian
channel's third anniversary. Two other live
shows are scheduled for this month: one on Christmas Eve and the other on New
Year's Eve. SAT-7 PARS hopes these broadcasts lead to many discussions about
the channel, Christmas, and "starting a New Year with God as our focus!"
Harder explains that live shows can answer questions about
the real meaning of Christmas. "Is it just about presents and toys and trying to be
nice to people? We know that it's about more than that as followers of
Christ."
No matter what date these programs are aired, live Christian
programming can have a strong impact for Christ. "They are quite powerful in the sense that they allow
people to call in and have their questions answered immediately," says
Harder.
SAT-7's three channels, SAT-7 ARABIC, SAT-7 PARS and SAT-7
KIDS, can be seen in every country from Morocco to Afghanistan. Arabic, Farsi
and Turkish speakers living in European countries can also view the broadcasts.
Harder says regular live shows on their Arabic channel have attracted viewers. "We have variouis pastors and sometimes priests and
other Christian leaders who answer people's questions directly. These kind of
live shows are very popular."
Harder adds that the time is now to give to SAT-7's ministry.
A generous donor has agreed to quadruple all donations, and now your gift can
go four times as far to reach nonbelievers in the Middle East and North Africa. Click here if you'd like to give to
