USA (MNN/JFP) — In his book, The Journey Home, the late Dr. Bill Bright wrote, “Set goals so big that unless God helps you, you will be a miserable failure.”
That’s the kind of spiritual legacy Dr. Bright left when he saw a bold dream come to fruition – the production of the “JESUS” film.
Dr. Bright went to be with the Lord in 2003. Jesus Film Project celebrated his legacy last Tuesday, October 19th, on what would have been Dr. Bright’s 100th birthday.
Josh Newell, executive director of Jesus Film Project, writes of Dr. Bright, “He lived and breathed the Great Commission, sharing the gospel at every opportunity. He motivated and equipped others to do the same, including me.”
In honor of Dr. Bright’s legacy, Jesus Film Project released a video with Paul Eshleman — Cru vice president for Networks and Global Partnerships, and former director of Jesus Film Project.
Eshleman says the thing that was so unique about Dr. Bright was “his absolute commitment to share the message of Christ everywhere.”

Dr. Bright and his wife Vonette co-founded Cru, formerly known as Campus Crusade for Christ. Jesus Film Project is a ministry of Cru. And although the “JESUS” film was released 42 years ago, the ministry says today, one person is coming to Christ every second because of the film!
The “JESUS” film has now been translated into over 1,900 languages, and more than 1,800 organizations use the “JESUS” film in their ministry.
So what about you? Is there a “big goal” God has laid on your heart for the Great Commission?
