MLC adds two new on-demand training initiatives

Middle East/North Africa (MNN) – As God continues to work through MENA Leadership Center (MLC), they expand their own offerings as well as launch a new online opportunity for their partners.

On-Demand Training

Dr. Jenn Murff with MLC explains that most of their current coursework is live training online. These real-time courses retain some of the benefits of traditional courses with teacher and student give and take. However, ministry leaders have expressed that often the live courses can be difficult to attend, given their own ministry obligations. So, MLC is preparing to launch an on-demand program.

Murff says, “This is where we are going to do high-quality, production-quality video content. It’s not a talking head, but it’s a moment of experiencing our coursework. It’s also through relationship. You’re going to feel like you know your instructor, as well as the material.”

This relational aspect is crucial for MLC. They are known for investing in their participants and seeing them as more than just students. They are MLC’s ministry partners.

In fact, because they are so close to their participants, MLC wants to provide even more options for partners from different backgrounds.

“We also would like to expand into other languages such as Turkish and Urdu,” Murff states. “We’re currently working in Arabic, Farsi, Kurdish, and English. But we want to do much more, because the need is great. So that’s the MLC core, the on-demand core courses.”

Powered by MLC

In addition to beginning their own on-demand courses, MLC is launching a new platform called Powered by MLC. Murff says, “This is going to focus very heavily on on-demand type courses, but led by trusted partners throughout the region. These partner courses will be listed on our website, they’ll be a made available through the MLC platform that we provide.”

This initiative not only provides additional courses for trainees, but it helps support smaller, local organizations and circulate their unique perspectives and information. Additionally, Powered by MLC provides a platform to help spread content from one area to another, which might be difficult otherwise. For instance, an organization based in Jordan might now be able to reach students in Egypt. This accelerates an individual ministry’s impact beyond what their tight resources would otherwise allow.

Get Involved

However, both of these new initiatives take resources from MLC. Murff says, “We would love for people to partner with this. We can’t do all that we’re doing without trusted partners in the West, [who] say, ‘I believe in what God’s doing and when He starts something, He’s going to finish it. I want to partner with great ministries throughout the region.’”

In addition to monetary support for the ministries, Murff asks for prayer. Their team is working in areas that can be challenging ground for the Gospel.

She says, “Despite the turmoil, God is at work. He’s doing things that he even if we were told, we wouldn’t believe it. Don’t believe everything you see on the news because we’re hearing things that are incredible. So please pray that God would continue to move. Please pray for safety. Pray for resources for the different ministries throughout the region.”
