International (MNN) — Following a huge evangelistic event, Sammy Tippit Ministries is diving deeper into digital evangelism, building on the foundation of deep relationships.
We have reported previously on the event live-streamed by Sammy Tippit Ministries at the end of May. You can read more about it here. Sammy Tippit says, “This sounds maybe a little strange, but the whole COVID-19 thing really enabled us to do more than we thought because everyone went online.”
Tippit says so many more people participated in the event around the world than he ever expected, and he has learned some things about ministering with technology. “I am just absolutely convinced that we must take the technology and use it for the glory of God. But I’ve also become convinced that the strongest way and the greatest way to use it is when you are in strong relationships with other people. And it’s only in those relationships that you can go broad and you can go deep with reaching people.”

The live event, Tippit says, had a much greater impact among people with whom Sammy Tippit Ministries had interacted directly. “The cross-posting was much more effective with Brazil because the Brazilians were a part of the training. It wasn’t just a matter of them doing this event with us. They had gone through the training, the personal training.”
Where the ministry will go next
Tippit says the event had massive participation from the Middle East, with 750,000 people watching. Nepal also had 200,000 viewers. He wants to create discipleship groups within these countries and build relationships there. “So, what we want to do now is to start trying to build some relationships inside Nepal, with Christians, whereby we can build these discipleship groups in Nepal and having the ability to feed those new believers.”
Sammy Tippit Ministries needs help with translation work and with financial support to get these translations ready. The five languages they are working on right now include Nepali, Kurdish, Albanian, Italian, and Chinese. Most of all, pray that the Gospel will go forth as relationships are built.tr
