Zimbabwe (MNN) — A call for help from those dying of hunger.
As havoc still remains in Syria, a new relief has developed.
Seeing a tweet from Baptist Global Response on Thursday, a new community center in Syria has been set up for refugees.
The new community center is a project that provides a centralized gathering spot in a new community for Syrian refugees. BGR partners will be able to feed volunteers and Syrian families as they build their new homes. They will also be able to store all equipment in the center while they are building. After the community and homes are built, the center can be used for community activities.
As Jeff Palmer from BGR returned from his trip to Syria, he says he was overwhelmed by the needs that were present but was amazed at the courage and boldness of the partners who are distributing food, medicines, and making Jesus Christ known in words and deeds.
Palmer says a common prayer request that partners would pray while in Syria was, “Pray that the believers here will stand fast in the face of persecution. We are like the three who were in the fire but not consumed. It is like we have chains around us, trying to cripple us. But God wants to break those chains. The chains are fear that constrict us. But our vision is that when this war is over, we can all go back and help rebuild our people and share God’s love.”
Please pray God will use His faithful servants to help bring healing and the message of hope to the many in need.
