Wycliffe drama team preparing for Spring performance

USA (MNN) — Wycliffe Bible Translators is just weeks away from bringing the mission field to churches across the United States. Wycliffe’s Dinner Theatre cast and crew are preparing for their Spring tour.

This year they’re presenting “Sunong” a story about God calling and preparing national Bible translators from the most difficult areas of the world to fulfill the Great Commission. It focuses on the real dangers, the crushing heartbreak, the inner struggles and the power of God working through modern heroes of our faith.

Young Sunong is a brilliant Buddhist boy in an isolated language group in Southeast Asia. He knows if he learns English and gets a good education, he can get a job in commerce and gain wealth for himself and his clan. But, what happens is nothing short of incredible.

While the play is entertaining, the message is important. The dinner theatre is designed to get Christians to re-examine their role in cross-cultural missions, whether they go, give or pray for Bible translation work globally. Christians are being asked to pray that many will be encouraged to help Bible translation, especially since there are hundreds of language groups without any Scripture in their language.
