Iran (MNN) — For kids growing up in Islamic countries, gospel resources are limited. What can be done to reach them?
“In today’s world, children, including those in Iran, are bombarded with misleading, false and sometimes harmful messages from various animations, games, movies,” says Jennifer* with Heart4Iran.
“It’s crucial to counter this with equally engaging content that conveys the truth of gospel to to kids.”
That’s where the Superbook TV series comes in. Created in 1981 by the Christian Broadcasting Network, Superbook now reaches kids in 60 languages with engaging Bible stories and lessons. (Learn more about Superbook here.)
Jennifer serves as the manager of the Superbook Farsi program at Heart4Iran. She and her team collaborate with another group of believers to bring Superbook to the Farsi-speaking world. Each episode goes through a detailed process of translation, review, dubbing, audio mixing and more before it’s ready for broadcast.
“Through characters like Joy and Chris, kids can relate to common challenges that they face at school, with their friends, at home, with families. Each episode presents a story from the Bible, showing how decisions can be made and lessons learned,” Jennifer says.
“The high quality Superbook cartoon really competes with a lot of other non-Christian content out. So as much as we can, we have to support this and make it available for our kids around the world.”
It’s coming at a critical time. Jennifer says that children in Iran are “growing up with a lot of health, mental, [and] emotional problems.” They and their families need the hope of Christ.
