(Undated)–And finally, a recipient of missionary eye care is now sitting on the board of the organization that reached out to him in Ethiopia years ago. Solomon MeKennon is now a board member with Christian Blind Mission International. MeKennon says while CBMI wasn’t able to help him see, the organization impressed him. “The very idea that people are willing to leave their comfortable place and home, and work and profession and leave for some unknown land and be willing to give their skills – their time – in itself was very touching.” Mekennon says CBMI was able to help 10-million people last year. However, he says seeing physically isn’t their only concern. “These people going out are not there simply providing their very important help in restoring eye sight, they’re also taking the Gospel to places where it would probably not be possible to bring the good news of God’s salvation to the lost people.”
