The international initiative aims at bringing about a more positive attitude towards Christianity among the 1.2 billion Muslims worldwide. The intercession was also meant to give spiritual assistance to Christians in Islamic countries. For Muslim converts to Christianity, Ramadan often means a time of trial and persecution.
