(Germany)–Meanwhile, the President of Germany was presented a special gift from the Gideons of Germany. According to Idea News, the Gideons gave President Johannes Rau with the one-billionth New Testament this evangelical association has distributed since it was found in 1899. Rau paid tribute to the 226-thousand people who distribute the Bible to those who would not normally read it. The Gideons place Bibles in hotel rooms, hospitals, prisons, schools and consulting rooms with the hopes of planting seeds of the Gospel.
