(Uganda)–Africa’s leaders are being told to take the lead in the fight against the AIDS pandemic. In countries like Botswana, Senegal and Uganda where the leaders are moving aggressively, the spread of the disease is slowing. Some of that responsibility falls on the church body, as well. Trans World Radio’s Rich Green. “Uganda has seen its HIV rate decrease over the last several years from 14-percent all the way down to eight-percent. Several Ugandan newspapers have credited Trans World Radio’s programs [as] helping [to] contribute towards this remarkable reversal.” Green says their work serves a two-fold purpose. “Not only does Trans World Radio teach people how to remain pure in Christ, but also to be able to introduce people to the Savior and many people are crediting their abstinence to hearing the good news of Christ through Trans World Radio.”
