(Nigeria)–Turning now to Nigeria, where the Plateau State government is turning to prayer. Late last week, they declared three free-working days for a special fasting and prayer vigil. A government statement in Jos said the state government declared the work free days so people could participate in the prayer and fasting. The state chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria organized the prayer session following the burning of the area’s main market and recent sectarian violence.
