(Central Asia)–Headlining today’s news, as Muslim extremism becomes a focus as the September 11th anniversary nears, an agency is helping a country where Islam is common. A Central Asian country has asked Bible Mission International and Greater Europe Mission to help computerize their schools. Bible Mission’s Malcolm Smith. “This is something the government came to us to request. Basically, there’s about 4 million children that are in the school system. And, this gives them a great opportunity to provide them with some educational help and then also to touch their lives with the Gospel.” Smith hopes to start with one-thousand computers this fall, but they need help. “We’re trying to ask computer suppliers and dealers if they would be willing to participate in this. This is a huge undertaking. We’re excited to get in there in October and get the first learning center up and running and then be prepared for the rest of the computers.”
