Yugoslavia tops today’s news as a country is picking up the pieces after a change in power there. Book of Hope’s John Young was in the Yugoslav province of Kosovo during the transition, conducting evangelistic meetings, Christian concerts and handing out the Book of Hope in schools. Young says they met some resistance in this Muslim region. “I almost got a huge rock, it was bigger than my fist, thrown at my head – during the concert. There was a radical group that was in the audience out of about 7,000 to 8,000 people and they were throwing all kinds of stuff at us. They were screaming, our god is bigger than your God.” However many young people came to Christ. Young says the time is now for evangelism. “There’s an opportunity in Kosovo right now, which may not be there a year from now. The U-N may not allow things like this to happen again. The Muslim population is becoming more and more stronger. There’s a lot of money being poured into Kosovo to reclaim it as Muslim territory.” 33-dollars buys 100 Books of Hope, which will help that project.
