The spring season has ushered in a flurry of spring cleaning, clothes shopping, and gardening for many Iranians. SAT-7, a Christian satellite television ministry to the Middle East and North Africa, reminds viewers through the program Together With You that spring is a time for a spring cleaning of the heart.
The program teaches that by cleaning away old grudges and envies, they can make room for love and kindness.
Together With You (in Farsi, Hamra ba Shoma) is a live weekly program airing from the SAT-7 PARS studio in London. Pastor Daniel Milton and co-host Sully present a biblical perspective on everyday issues viewers face in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan.
The recent spring episode was inspired by Matthew 22:37-39, “Love the Lord Your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Spring is a time for new beginnings. The hosts encourage the viewers to begin a daily practice of caring for others. The show gives different ways to help, whether taking an elderly person to a doctor’s visit, buying someone groceries, or babysitting to give a new mother a few hours of rest.

There are obstacles to helping others in a country like Iran. One Iranian called the show to give his opinion, saying, “We are censored so much. It is okay if we want to give someone money, but if we stop to talk with one or two people, the security will be after us for standing in groups talking….Even with all these problems, I thank God for putting so much hope in my heart.”
Due to close surveillance of political activities in Iran and government efforts to diminish any opposition, it is difficult for Iranians to gather in public. Unfortunately, this limits everyone including people with the best of intentions.
A common theme in Together With You is the practical nature of the topics. Previous episodes have discussed how God speaks to people, alcoholism, suicide, and children of divorce.
Pray that as people seek answers through SAT-7 PARS television programs, God will use these discussions to reach them with the truth and hope found in Scripture.
