USA (MNN) — Close your eyes and imagine being chased from your home. Guns blare behind you, lighting the night sky, a bomb goes off to your side. You don’t know if you or your family will make it out alive.

But if you do, where would you go? In such a situation, wouldn’t you want someone, anyone really, to help you?

A donor of Bethany Christian Services has recently answered the call to help by offering a matching gift up to $350,000. Any amount donated will be matched by this particular donor. In other words, whatever amount given will be doubled. However, in order for Bethany to receive the full amount, all funds need to be donated by March 31, 2016.

The money raised will only be used for Bethany’s refugee program and specifically for refugees from the Middle East.

Refugee Facts

  • There are over 60 million displaced persons around the world. 19.5 million of these are refugees.
  • Just over half of these refugees are children.
  • Michigan, where Bethany is based, is one of the top 5 states for resettling refugees.
  • Refugees face rigorous screening and vetting prior to entering the United States.

While there is something scary about letting strange and different people into one’s homeland, in both 2 Timothy 1:7 and Ephesians 3:17-19 God tells His people not to walk in the spirit of fear, but but in a spirit of love.

So, make a donation today and help someone who who faces trials most of us know nothing about.

Your donations will help resettle refugees and also give them a chance to hear the Gospel through Bethany.

If you are unable to donate right now, please pray for the safety of refugees everywhere, for them to come to know Christ, and for Bethany’s gift matching to meet its full possible amount.
