United States (MNN) — As Christmas approaches, here’s one way you can plan ahead to share Jesus with children in your life.

“Kids between the ages of 4 and 14 are interested in spiritual truth,” says Greg Yoder with Keys for Kids Ministries. “We’re hearing from 414 [Movement] that [of] kids [in] that age group, 80% of them are looking for spiritual truth.”
That’s why Keys for Kids offers a Christmas devotional booklet to engage children with the gospel!
“These are great for holiday events. If you have Christmas concerts for your churches, for schools [or] if you wanted to [give them] as you’re handing out gifts to friends and family, maybe neighbors,” says Yoder.
“That’s what we’re talking about right now: redeeming the holiday. Obviously, Christmas is a holiday that we celebrate Jesus’ birth, but what an amazing opportunity it would be to see young people, kids, teens and families coming to the Christ of Christmas.”

“Usually the story is something that a young person will experience in their lifetime. So it’s something that’s happening in their life, but it’s teaching a biblical truth,” Yoder says.

The story, accompanying Bible verses and then questions engage kids in reflection leading to truth: How does this apply to you? What would you do if you were in this situation? How does this Bible verse help you grow in your faith? How does this Bible verse remind you that you need a Savior?
“As they’re reading God’s Word, as the Holy Spirit does that work, that’s when the fire starts growing. That’s how they begin understanding their need of a Savior. That’s how, as followers of Jesus Christ, they understand that, ‘Hey, I need to continue growing in my faith, and not just growing in my faith, but sharing my faith.’”
