Elsewhere, Voice of the Martyrs is reporting that 130 members of a Chinese house church in the Henan province have been arrested. The group was taken into custody on Wednesday, August 23, 2000. VOM says three Americans from California were also detained. However, Henry Chu, Patricia Lan and Sandee Lin were all released Friday. The remaining detainees are being held in the Xihua (shee-whah) county jail. Please continue to pray for the strength of their testimony during this time.

Meanwhile, the Jesus Film Project is a key resource in pointing international students to Christ. International Students is making thousands of copies of the Jesus Video available to students who speak 22 different languages. According to International Students Incorporated 70-percent of the people who send in response cards are coming to Christ. Many of these students are also requesting a Bible in their own language.
Workers are seeing fruit as they try to reach Muslims around the world with the Gospel. Arab World Ministries reports a number of avenues into the Arab world have been established over the last year. AWM has placed their first workers in Italy, where over a half million Muslims live. AWM Media is working to create a television series for youth as a means of evangelism, as well as assisting in church planting.
Sri Lanka’s government turmoil causes rioting, but doesn’t effect ministry.
International Aid is reporting that a partnership between relief agencies, churches and missionaries continues to give the needy of Nicaragua health and hope. I-A says they’ve seen hundreds of lives changed through the power of compassionate action. So far, six shipments this year, worth over seven million dollars, have been sent to help the hungry and destitute children living in the city dumps. One missionary has used I-A supplies to develop feeding centers and training classes and help area hospitals.
