Outreach in the inner city prompts call for help

By November 4, 2009

USA (MNN) — The Evangelical Free
Church
is looking for young adults to join "City Serve," a year-long urban
missions internship.

CityServe missionaries work to
impact urban and intercultural churches with the Gospel in New York City. The missionary will spend two years with a
seasoned pastoral mentor as he prepares to plant a church in New York.

Why "CityServe?" It
better communicates vision and purpose. They're looking for men
who are interested in planting an urban or intercultural church and being mentored by a seasoned pastor.

Aside from working with young
adults, they're looking to recruit men who have a vision to see the body of
Christ grow.

As a result, CityServe wants to develop partnerships with
churches in the Eastern District where a suburban or rural church can mobilize
some of their people to meet a real need in an urban or intercultural
church.

The goal is to reach immigrant populations in their heart
language while also helping them adapt to American culture. Click here for more specifics.
