Bolivia (MNN) — The Grace
Ministries team from Bolivia report excitement over the careful growth among
the Bolivia churches.
The "Jesucristo Vive
Church" in Santa Cruz has been doing an evangelistic outreach
for the past year. Recently, many people
from the church conducted a three-night evangelistic campaign, and it was great
to see God working.
GMI missionary Talo Vergara and
several other pastors did the preaching at night, and during the day they
visited the villagers' homes where they were able to share the Gospel.
Vergara is eager to cultivate the
growth they've been seeing. His own
story fuels the desire to see growth in these regions.
In 1982, Vergara's mother was
invited to a Bible study at the home of former GMI missionaries, Arnie and
Sally Selfors. She took her family with
her, and when Talo was six, he accepted
Christ as his Savior.
That Bible study grew into a
church that Talo attended regularly throughout his younger years, and
eventually he became one of the youth leaders there.
As he saw his friends' lives changed because of sharing his faith, it
fueled his passion for Christ, and he realized he wanted to be involved in
ministry for the rest of his life. After
finishing school, Vergara began his full-time ministries in Bolivia in February
2006. He is currently involved in teaching, discipleship, and evangelism.
Please pray for this outreach as
a church plant is envisioned in the future.
