Kid-friendly devotionals offer solace for anxious families

USA (MNN) — Back-to-school season is underway in the United States.

While some kids enter this season with excitement, others dread the thought of peer interactions and bullying. For parents, higher back-to-school costs and economic uncertainties add another layer of angst.

Keys for Kids’ Greg Yoder says, “There’s so much fear, anxiety, depression, [and] angst about what’s going on in our culture today. The only answer to that is Jesus.”

Even so, fewer believers are tapping into the only trustworthy source of hope and peace. “The number of families in God’s Word every day [is] drastically down,” Yoder says.

“[Only] 40 percent of Christians read their Bible outside the church. That means 60 percent of people are not reading their Bibles.”

Keys for Kids offers daily print and digital devotionals that help children, teens, and families unlock biblical truths and keep Christ at the center of their lives. More about that here.

“As young people head back to school, moms and dads want to impact their lives. We want to provide an opportunity to get free devotionals,” Yoder says.

“Moms and dads can read [the devotionals] before school, maybe after they get home from school or before they go to bed.”

Getting kids into God’s Word helps them discover His promises and grow in faith.

“By reading these devotionals, not only are they going to understand Scripture a little bit better, but it’s also about igniting a passion for Christ in kids, teens, and families,” Yoder says.

Along with daily devotionals, “There are many other materials you can also download. We have both Keys for Kids and Unlocked on the YouVersion app,” Yoder says.

“We also have Keys for Kids Radio that kids can listen [to] all day through the app, a smart speaker, anything like that.”
