Groups recruited for ‘JESUS’

By April 11, 2012

USA (MNN) — You can help spread the Good News of Christ and make a difference in the lives of people — an eternal difference. How? By being part of a group of like-minded friends coming together to help fund one or more of the tools and resources needed to advance Christ's Kingdom.

The JESUS Film Project Group Giving program provides the opportunity for you to join with others to do something you could not do on your own — to accomplish a bigger goal, a greater dream, with lasting results.

Scott Carr, a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Navy, is part of a group called "The Watchmen." Together, they wanted to make a difference. Carr discovered a need for the "JESUS" film to be translated into even more languages. He couldn't do it alone, so he and a group of friends decided to fund the translation of the Naga language in Benin. "I was very excited about the opportunity to translate the 'JESUS' film into the Naga language. For just a small amount of money, each of us in this group committed to fund this translation."

Another member of the group, Eric Bachelor, says, "Seeing so many people come to know Christ during that first show [of the 'JESUS' film], it was the first time we felt bigger than we were individually. We were contributing to something bigger than what we could have done on our own."

Carr added, "A group can be anybody: it can be your Sunday school class, your family, college friends, and it can be your church softball team."

You can launch a Group Giving project of your own and enlist your friends who in turn can invite their friends to help you reach your goals and keep the Gospel going out to unreached people. Click here to find a project that suits your group or ministry.

As a member of a Group Giving project or even a Group leader, you'll be able to use this Web site, the Internet, and your network of relationships to help support the work of global film evangelism and follow up. Either way you choose to get involved, you'll play a vital role in helping to touch and transform the lives of men, women, and children–now and for eternity.
