India (MNN) — There’s good news coming from parts of India hit by the tsunami.
Through sister minstries in India, Bible Pathway Ministries is working to show the love of Christ to survivors. Rita Guerra with Bible Pathway says teams went into the tsunami-hit areas to determine immediate needs.
But even though emergency relief is mostly handled, there is still so much to do. Guerra says their partner ministries, “have picked five villages they’re going to work with-there’s 750 people in these villages-and they’re fishing villages, and they’ve devised a plan to help them get back on their feet. Of course the need for grief counseling is ever-present.”
Students from the Hindustan Bible Institute have been providing physical and spiritual aid. Bible Pathway and Hope Givers International are also working together to be the hands and feet of Christ to those in need in India.
Bible Pathway is providing Bibles and resources to help people learn God’s Word and get it in their hearts. Guerra says that’s what will truly help the most.
“The government’s giving food, water, medicine clothing, shelter, but the government can’t give them hope. And the only thing that can give hope is through Jesus, and so that’s what they’re working on. But they have to feed and clothe and help them get back to work, as they give them the spiritual help.”
Pray that people will come to know the hope found in Jesus.
