Giving Tuesday

International (MNN) — On the heels of Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday serves as a global reminder that it’s better to give than to receive.

#GivingTuesday allows non-profit ministries to spread awareness about their work and raise financial support to keep that work going.

Any charities can participate; they just designate a hashtag to single out their efforts (#GivingBundlesDay or #GiveJESUS, for example) and include it in all of their social media posts, along with a link to their donate page.

Since its creation in 2012, #GivingTuesday has garnered an estimated 470% increase in online donations. Here’s a look at the growth of #GivingTuesday around the world.

Today, as you consider a plethora of different causes to support, would you check out the ones that further God’s Kingdom?

We’re spotlighting a few here to get you started:

#GiveJESUS

Last year on Giving Tuesday, many friends united together and sent “JESUS” to two people groups in India.

Today, on #GivingTuesday15, you can help The JESUS Film Project give the Northwestern Tamang people “JESUS.” Learn more here.

#GivingBundlesDay

A Bundle of Love package, provided by AMG International, contains more than shoes, pants, and blankets. A Bundle of Love is stuffed full of joy and hope. Is there any better Christmas gift that you could give?

It takes only $20 to make one Bundle of Love possible and to bring tremendous joy and encouragement to someone in need.
