China (MNN)–The kitchen in the Liucun Orphanage and Elderly Home in China was in desperate need of help.
When staff from Operation Blessing China first saw it, doors and window shutters hung, barely attached. There were no cabinets or shelves, so clean dishes sat on the floor amidst signs of rodent activity. Over everything, a thick layer of grease.
OBI teams were concerned that the unsanitary conditions in the kitchen could create food related sicknesses, threatening weak immune systems.
They immediately set out to renovate the facility, cleaning, and adding modern appliances and plenty of storage space.
Together, they celebrated the completed project with a special feast along with the 11 senior citizens and 13 orphans who call the facility home.
Through this action, the team became the hands and feet of Christ in responding to need.
