China (MNN) — As 2014 gets underway, one group pauses to celebrate and share highlights from the past year.

China Partner exists to serve the Church in China as they fulfill the Great Commission. In 2013, they were able to train nearly 500 church leaders and 80 Sunday School leaders. Their training sessions covered topics like youth and family ministry, apologetics, biblical leadership, homiletics, pastoral care, and Christian counseling.

According to China Partner, there are only an estimated 3,700 ordained and assistant pastors ministering to these believers, or one pastor for every 1,000+ Christians. As the Church in China continues to grow, this ratio will only increase unless more Christian leaders are trained.

See how the group tackles the task of training here.

They also equipped leaders with 2700 theological study books. “Pastor Packs” containing the Timothy Series, along with similar educational resources, were distributed to emerging leaders in three different provinces.

In addition, China Partner’s YouthServe director is working with two churches to implement a youth ministry program, and they partnered at an English Camp in Sichuan Province. Gospel seeds were planted in 50 students at this event.

Donor participation and financial support helped make all of this possible. Pray that these reports encourage more people to come alongside China Partner’s work.
