Iraq (MNN) — God is using relief to show a Christian witness in Iraq. Evangelical relief agencies are bringing hope to Iraq in the form of food, medicine and other needed supplies despite 500 pound bombs being dropped by the United States hitting suspected ambush sites.
Food for the Hungry’s Tamara Dutch says the recent combat activity isn’t stopping what they’re doing. “Food for the Hungry is known for going to the hard places. And, as long as we are assured that our staff or our partners will be safe we will continue to go to these places.”
Dutch says working with the local church gives believers credibility, opening doors to share their faith. Dutch says they’ve help a number of people. “We have distributed to families in both Baghdad and Mosul. (In) Baghdad Food for the Hungry and its partners have helped a little over 1,000 families (and) 1,000 families also in Mosul.
People can help in a number of ways. Dutch says, “They can donate by going to our web site at www.fh.org or you can call 800-2-hunger.”
