A Christian school moves to meet growing needs in the Philippines.

Philippines (MNN)–Davao City is the third largest city in the Philippines located on the southeast coast of Mindanao Island, about 600 miles south of the capital city of Manila.

It is also the hub of constant evangelistic activity. Missionaries and their families found a need for consistent, quality education from a Christian worldview.

That’s where the puzzle pieces fit together with the help of the Association of Christian Schools International. During the years of 1993-98, parents began to desire a high school located in Davao. After exhausting other possibilities, the steering committee was formed and Mindanao International Christian Academy (MICA) was born.

Over the last few years, the school has seen growth to the point where a larger facility was necessary. To that end, construction is underway on a new building for the Mindanao International Christian Academy in the Philippines.

ACSI says their new building will triple the school’s floor space and provide better learning space. The school works from a Christian worldview to provide a quality high school education for the children of missionaries and expatriate Christian volunteer workers.

Pray for a smooth transition to the new facility.
