USA (MNN) — If you're a Christian in North America, you probably have more than one Bible.
Why not brush the dust off the spares and give them new life?
"Please don't ever underestimate what one single Bible can do. We have no idea, until we get to heaven, how many people's lives were changed because of that," says Karen Hawkins of Bible Pathway Ministries.
Earlier this month, we told you about Bible Pathway's Global Bible Reading Marathon. Due to technical difficulties, the "global" event has now become "local." Readers will still be gathering in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to read Genesis through Revelation, but the event won't be streaming live online.
In addition, Bible Pathway is gathering extra copies of God's Word to send to pastors and believers around the world.
"We're going to have a collection box," Hawkins explains. "And then, we are asking the youth groups that are coming on Sunday night and Wednesday night to pack those up for us."
Not only will Christ-followers in need get their own Bible from this effort, but leaders will also receive a "Pastor's Library." It's a collection of resources consisting of a study Bible, a commentary or other reference book, at least one other Bible teaching book, and several sets of Bible Pathway devotions.
But it's only a drop in the bucket.
"The request for the Bible is always WAY beyond anything that we ever have a supply of," says Hawkins.

Pray that the upcoming Bible collection will exceed expectations. Pray that Bible Pathway will get the funding and resources they need.
"It's God's Word, it is breathing, it transforms lives, but we have to get it to the people," Hawkins states.
