Recycle old electronics for missions

By May 31, 2012

International (MNN) — Did you know the key to supporting a missionary, funding a Bible, or providing clean water may be lying in your junk drawer?

Old cell phones, iPods, cameras, and several other electronic devices you don’t use anymore can actually advance the Kingdom.

According to Electronics Take Back Coalition, only 17.7% of old electronic devices were recycled in 2009. The rest went to landfills or incinerators, meaning 3.19 million tons of recyclable electronic devices were trashed.

By recycling electronic devices through Integrity Communication, Gospel for Asia gets a percentage of the charitable funds. Those funds are then used on the mission field to advance the ministry of Gospel for Asia.

Gospel for Asia exists to touch the lives of the 2.7 billion unreached people in Asia with the Gospel. Just a few ministries they’re involved in are supporting national missionaries, providing clean water, disaster relief, and training students in Asia Bible colleges.

Donating old electronics is a simple, cost-free way to support Gospel for Asia’s work. It is also a better alternative than these devices ending up in a landfill.

You can get a full list of devices that qualify for their recycling procedures by going to Integrity Communication’s recycling page.

The process is fast and easy. Simply click here to go to the donation Web site, fill out the online form, and you will be e-mailed with the details for sending in your devices. Be sure to specify that you want the proceeds to go to Gospel for Asia.

In addition to putting your unused electronics toward a good cause, pray for Gospel for Asia’s ministry. Pray for their specific areas of ministry and that their partners in various parts of Asia would be protected as they boldly go out with the Gospel of Christ.
