International (MNN) – Many Christians around the world have little to no access to the internet. For the ministry Faith Comes by Hearing , the lack of internet has been a barrier to reaching certain groups of people with audio scriptures.
Now, however, FCBH will be reaching people by another means: satellite television. They are partnering with SAT-7 , sharing their resources to reach even more ears with the Gospel. The vice president of FCBH, Troy Carl, explains: “We have agreed to launch the world’s first Arabic audio Bible listening channel throughout the Middle East through this partnership.”
Over half of the world is illiterate. That is why television programs and audio Scriptures are so valuable worldwide. While FCBH already reaches over 111 million people in 754 languages, this partnership provides a unique opportunity. Just as some Christians have the ability to open their Bibles at any time to engage with the Word, this program provides 24/7 access to the Bible for those who cannot read. “They will have an opportunity to engage in and understand the Word of God like never before,” Carl says.
The program will provide discipleship tools as well as Scripture engagement. These two ministries also provide the Gospel to countries and peoples who otherwise have no access because of suppression of church activity and hostility towards the Gospel.
Sat-7 reaches 15 million people in the Middle East, North Africa, and parts of Europe. These are new audiences for the audio Bibles that FCBH provides. But these partners are not going to stop with just one language. Carl has high hopes saying, “We hope that this will be a pilot that will show us how we can work together with great Christian programming partners and broadcast the audio Scriptures via satellite in hundreds of more languages in the future.”
SAT-7 will also promote access points for digital Bible on their website and television programs, making viewers aware of resources. Not only will they be able to reach people who have never heard the Gospel, but they will aid Christians in deepening their faith.
The potential of this partnership is immense. Pray that technology will advance quickly, allowing for more platforms by which ministries like FCBH and SAT-7 to reach Christians as well as lost people. Pray that this partnership would flourish, and that more people of more languages would have access to God’s Word. Pray for the continued support of SAT-7 as they seek to expand their ministry. Pray that Christians will continue to come together in this way, utilizing their resources to do Kingdom work.

“When people listen to the Word of God in their own language in an audio form, we have testimony after testimony after testimony of how their lives are transformed,” Carl says,” The scripture tells us that in the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God. When we engage in the Word of God, we give the Holy Spirit an opportunity to transform our lives based on those things that we hear.”
