International (LPA/MNN) — In just a
couple of weeks, the Luis Palau Association will be part of an effort taking
the Gospel to millions.
On November 7-10, they're hosting
Continente 2001, which, in partnership with Spanish television network Enlace, will
take the hope of Christ into people's living rooms.
The team is producing four nights of
Night Talk, a live Q-and-A program featuring Luis Palau. Callers from 26
countries can receive Biblical answers to tough questions and guidance on
matters of faith from Luis and a team of trained counselors. During each
broadcast, Luis will share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the candor and
clarity for which he is known.
The goal is to reach five million
people with the Gospel. Not only will 5,070
partner TV stations air live and repeat broadcasts, but www.luispalau.net will be streaming the
broadcast. Several Spanish-language
radio stations in Latin America and across the United States have also signed
on to carry the broadcast.
Follow-up efforts are handled with
the help of 691 partnering churches and extensive online resources. The idea behind church involvement is to make a
personal connection with new believers to help them get plugged in to a church body. The
online resourcing will provide materials like copies of the New Testament in
Spanish.
For the second year in a row, Palau
has joined Enlace to saturate the Spanish-speaking world with the hope of
Christ. "This is a rare opportunity. It's not often that the Lord gives
us the chance to reach an entire continent with the clear message of Jesus
Christ through live television. It has only happened on a few God-appointed
times. Yet even those had their limitations," Palau said of the event. "I pray that
millions will tune in."
Continente 2011 represents an exciting opportunity to bring encouragement,
hope, training, and salvation to the entire Spanish-speaking world. Please be praying for this outreach.
