USA (MNN) — For some families, the expense of a new school year can be overwhelming. Backpacks and school supplies are a luxury they simply cannot afford.
That's where City Team Ministries comes in. They would like to provide at least 2,000
backpacks filled with school supplies to children in Delaware Valley on August 25.
Their goal is that every child who receives a backpack will have all the necessary supplies to start school on the right track. They have contacted schools in order to find out which materials are needed. Through sponsors, they can then sort out the supplies so that each child receives grade-appropriate gear.
Being able to enter school with proper supplies can boost self-esteem and confidence. CityTeam
will hold a Community Festival in Delaware Valley to distribute the filled backpacks and get the kids excited for the coming school year.
