Ministry in Congo to get a new charge

By May 24, 2007

Congo (MNN) — Reach Global, formerly the Evangelical Free Church Mission, has an urgent need in Congo for people with experience in hydro-electricity. They're needing help in developing small hydro-electric projects in remote areas using small rivers.

One project is for the Tandala Hospital, which currently only has diesel generator power a few hours a day. The other is for Widows and Orphans training school.

The Tandala Hospital serves as the main reference hospital for more than 500,000 people. It manages 35 outlying health centers that supply medical assistance to the people of Central Africa. Similar work is taking place in Gemena, but supply shortages present the constant threat of interrupted outreach.

This ministry of compassion has resulted in hundreds of people coming to Christ and basic medical needs being met. Touch Global, the Compassion Ministries wing of Reach Global, engages churches around the world, connecting them with resources and opportunities to serve those in need.

A team is being assembled to help determine the needs for rewiring the various houses, the hospital, and underground wiring between buildings. This is an assessment trip as well as one where actual wiring work will be done.

At present, the dates being considered are September 26-October 14, 2007 or January 23-February 10, 2008.

Reach Global hopes this support team will help their evangelistic ministries continue uninterrupted. Click here if you want more information.
