USA (MNN) — Envision, a conference by Lifewater International, will be held in Orange,
California June 22-24.
"It's for a wide range of people, actually. It's for Lifewater supporters, our volunteers, our international partners from overseas, and anyone interested in doing development and mission work better," said Sada Andrews, Community Relations Manager of Lifewater International. They encourage individuals and groups who would like to raise awareness about development overseas to attend in order to get more materials to improve their ministry.
"Hopefully it'll help those people who are even just vaguely interested really understand the problem around the world and understand the need, and to be encouraged that as Christians we have not only the obligation but the opportunity to make a difference in this area," said Andrews.
In addition to Lifewater staff, there will be other well-known speakers. Representatives from Blood Water Mission, World
Relief, and other organizations will address issues such as sustainable transformation and micro-finance.
"A lot of our international partners are coming," said Andrews. They will be coming from Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Liberia, and Ecuador to speak about their experiences on the ground about how Life Water is affecting their communities. Those who attend will be able to "ask questions, talk with them, get to know them, and befriend them in hopes that they'll be able to see them again one day."
Saturday night, Jars of Clay has joined with Lifewater to hold a benefit concert. This event is not only for those who attend the conference but for anyone who would like to
attend. "This is the one to go to because it is a Safe Water Benefit concert, and all the proceeds are going to provide safe water, sanitation, and hygiene training to those in need," said Erin Roberts
of Lifewater.
The cost of the conference is $185 and will cover registration and meals for the weekend.
