Slovakia Has Vision for More Churches

By April 12, 2007

Slovakia (MNN) — A mission group from I.N. Network is working long days in Slovakia. Their day starts at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast and devotions and ends at 8 p.m.

The mission team is working at the John Amos Comenius (JAC) Christian Conference Center.  John Amos was a bishop and educator who believed that science and religion were not incompatible and advocated education that related to real life. He offered equal opportunities to women who wanted education.

Evangelism has open doors in Slovakia right now. Therefore, evangelical churches are aiming to grow in numbers across the country. Thanks to the Slovak Association of Evangelical Churches, 100 students are currently studying at the first and only theological seminary in Slovakia.

The team is working in the center that is located in Rackova Dolina doing demolition work. They have also had some opportunities to sight-see in the surrounding areas. As they work on renovating an existing building, The Slovak Association of Evangelical Churches has a plan for the next 40 years: to plant a church in every town and village with at least 1,000 people.

Besides short-term missionaries, there are three national staff members in Slovakia and one seminary professor. You can help by sponsoring these workers for just $75 each month.
