Africa (MNN) — Hope is rising in West Africa. Thanks to Trans World Radio – Canada, a French version of the Women of Hope program will be broadcast this spring throughout the country.
While there are many speakers of local languages, French is the official language. A new
100,000-watt AM transmitter that is located in Benin will be broadcasting the program.
Project Hannah's Africa coordinator Helena Silvano met with several people, including the future producer Macy Domingo, last fall to prepare.
Macy is excited to start this new ministry. " Since I gave my life to the Lord in 1993, I understood that during the past years the Lord prepared me for radio and television ministry for His great glory," she said. Domingo has been in television and radio
broadcast for more than 20 years.
Women in West Africa live in unimaginable conditions. Poverty, inadequate education, insufficient food and daily hard manual labor are just a few of the heart-breaking situations they may face.
Project Hannah sponsors the Women of Hope broadcast. It is a 30-minute program that is designed like a magazine. It includes music along with interviews, testimonies, discussions, and devotionals. It's purpose is to penetrate the walls of culture that separate them from the freedom and hope of Christ.
The broadcast is broken into two segments: Lessons for your Life, and Lessons for your Soul; Lessons for your Life focuses on health and family issues, while Lessons for your Soul offers scripture teachings.
