India (MNN) — Flooding from monsoon rains in India are hindering relief supplies from reaching those who need help.
Gospel For Asia Compassion Services workers in the western part of India are doing all they can to get through to flood victims, but lingering rains in some areas have made roads impassable.
As they’re able to get through, GFA missionaries are providing food supplies, drinking water, materials for shelter and medicines.
Millions of homes have been submerged and destroyed in floodwaters, and even GFA missionaries are among the victims. Yet they continue reaching out with tangible expressions of God’s love.
The flooding has killed hundreds of people, and the despair in the aftermath has added to that toll. Many crops were decimated by the floods, creating an even worse economic situation that has led to numerous suicides by hopeless farmers.
Pray that relief supplies will get through to the affected areas as soon as possible. Pray that those who are suffering will be drawn to Christ through His faithful workers extending His love and grace.
