Mozambique (MNN)–The lack of funding is creating problems for future outreach in Mozambique.
OMS International’s four-fold focus on ministry includes: Evangelism, Church Planting, Training National Leaders, and Partnership. God is making the “Training National Leaders” vision into a reality there with rapid growth.
Noting an increasing need for a seminary where church workers could be trained, OMS International acquired a suitable piece of property in Maputo in December 1999.
This property came with a small two-room building that could be used for seminary classes, and thus the Maputo Bible Seminary was born in 2001. But it became quickly evident that they were going to need more room.
Two dozen students were crammed into the classrooms for study. As the program grew, so too, did the need for space.
Plans were drawn up for a four-story facility. The Maputo Bible Seminary, once built, plans to teach a student body of 160 students in a four-year accredited degree in theology, eventually adding higher levels of theological education. That’s the good news.
The bad news: OMS International says their seminary construction has slowed to a snail’s pace, partly because the construction company is experiencing a cash flow problem. The interior finishing of the building is urgent.
Pray for the funds, the work to be done and for the workers to finish the roof, floors, ceilings, walls, the installation of the electrical system, windows, glass, and the elevator, with an estimated cost of approximately $200,000 dollars. Consistent prayer is needed.
