USA (MNN) — Thanksgiving in the United States is November 24th. And that means time to help a holiday meal program is now. With Hurricane Katrina hitting the U-S the need for financial support is greater that ever before for Here’s Life Inner City.
According to Here’s Life Inner City’s Ted Gandy, “We face the greatest ministry opportunity ever. If God’s people will step up to it, many will come to faith in Christ through this outreach.”
Here’s Life is raising money to send 29,000 “Boxes of Love” to help 170,000 people. The only problem is they’re facing a 30-percent decline in contributions to their ministry. Since many people gave money to Hurricane Katrina relief, funding was diverted from typical holiday giving like Here’s Life.
A gift of 37-dollars provides a meal for up to six people. It also includes a copy of God’s Word and is the tool that will allow churches a way to get involved in the lives of people.
According to Gandy, many people give their hearts to Christ as Christians deliver these meals to people’s homes. Consider what God would have you give today.
