USA (MNN)–International Aid reports their teams continue to ship 20 supply missions a day to the hardest hit areas of Hurricane Katrina.
In Hancock County, Missouri, most of the homes were destroyed, requiring even more aid. With the onset of colder weather, it is important to continue to provide food, medicines and shelter for the thousands of displaced families.
Fortunately, I-A has a warehouse at Stennis Airport in the region. The area has a population of 46,000 and more than 16,000 houses were destroyed.
As the need for food aid diminishes, I-A is shifting its focus to addressing the longer-term medical and redevelopment needs of the coastal communities.
Their church-to-church initiative is going well with more than 100 churches and church groups connected. Through that commitment, believers are able to have greater impact on their communities in the days ahead.
