Poverty, practical needs and the love of Jesus meet in the Republic of Georgia.

Georgia (MNN) — In the shadow of the Caucasas Mountains in the country of Georgia, local pastors faithfully spread the Gospel even as they struggle with poverty.

For 18 pastors’ households, The Bridge International became a means of blessing, support and encouragement. Bridge missionaries working in the CIS Republic of Georgia made a spring delivery of practical supplies to meet basic needs of these struggling families. It was a journey of mercy and the love of Jesus, met with much rejoicing and gratefulness.

Many of the households have between two and seven children, plus elderly family members. The Bridge missionaries delivered things like food, seeds to grow their own food, tools, clothing repair kit, hygiene items, household set, literature, and medical home kit. They were simple, basic items, but things so valuable and needed for these large families.

In total, 18 pastors and their families, including 52 children, were helped with 57 items amounting to $66 (USD) per family, just $1184 (USD) overall. But the impact of those gifts is far greater than the small amount of money it took to bring such joy and blessing. God’s provision and care for these pastors enables them to continue being active in evangelism and church planting in remote regions of that former communist country.
