Burkina Faso (MNN) — Vegetable seeds, water, fertilizer and sheer determination are part of a successful garden project in Burkina Faso.

Operation Blessing International implemented a micro-enterprise garden project a year ago in the village of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. They built two fresh water wells, set up a water tower and taught impoverished women how to plant and cultivate land.

The dry soil became fertile ground, and 64 people go every day to work the land throughout the year. Their labor provides food and income for their families. Many people’s lives have become fruitful and self-sustaining, pulling them out of poverty, lonliness, hunger and an empty existence.

Now, the community of 1,700 people has been transformed through the compassion of Operation Blessing as they show the love of Christ by meeting people’s needs.
