New projects for Trans World Radio in the United Kingdom increase outreach.

United Kingdom (MNN)–Trans World Radio-United Kingdom began its Internet simulcast project last month.

Audiences can now tune in 24-hours a day to hear live broadcasts by visiting the UK Web site and clicking on “Listen Live.”

This brings a whole new audience to TWR. Anyone with a computer and an Internet connection can now access Bible teaching, praise, mission, youth programs and much more.

TWR-UK is also moving forward with plans to launch a digital service next year. At home or in the car, the UK now has 85% coverage.

The advantages of digital radio include an increasing range of exclusive channels, it’s easy to use, listeners can tune into any station at the touch of a button, there’s improved reception, text information about program content and listeners can use it anywhere.

Given those two points, it only makes sense to include digital radio in its plans for growth. Changes in the legal framework and technological advances in Digital Audio Broadcasting have paved the way to reach a mass audience with the Gospel. Hopes are that the service will be ready to launch in 2006-07.
