International (MNN)–Operation World reports that less than three percent of Hungary’s 10 million people are evangelical Christians. In Macedonia, believers make up less than one percent of the population of 2.1 million.
Even so, there’s evidence of phenomenal evangelical church growth in both Hungary and Macedonia. In both of these former Communist countries, that growth has created a need for more leadership of the Bible League’s ministries.
To meet this need, Bible League brought on board two new national directors, one in Hungary, and one in Macedonia.
Bernat Kovacs, of Budapest, joined the Hungary team last month. He will be promoting partnerships with Hungarian churches to encourage evangelism and discipleship programs for church growth. He’ll also be developing a church planter component to teach and strengthen new and existing church leadership.
Meanwhile, Stojan Petrovski has hit the ground running in Macedonia. He’ll focus on planting new churches in unreached cities of Macedonia.
