Haiti (MNN)–Men For Missions, the laymen’s voice of OMS International, says reports are coming in from miles around that people are listening to the hope of Christ on radio station 4VBM in southwest Haiti.

So far, over 500 letters of thanks and praise to God for the radio station have come in since the new downlink became operational.

In addition, more than one-thousand gourde ($150 USD) came in from listeners. People are still bringing donations to Radio 4VBM, however, the cost of keep the station on the air is greater than what the people are able to give.

The plan for Operation Saturation in 2004 included the construction of a new broadcast center adequate to house needed staff and new equipment.

The next step was equipping the new broadcast center with state-of-the-art technology to reach all of Haiti as well as Haitians in the Caribbean.

MFM’s teams want to saturate Haiti with fix-tuned, solar-powered radios to receive the ministry of Radio 4VEH At the same time, they launched a major evangelistic radio campaign to reach all of Haiti through the fix-tuned radios. So far, the uplink and two additional radio stations are on the air.

Through creative radio programming, teams hope to minister to new believers, new and existing churches while training Haitian lay people to reach and nurture their own countrymen.

Pray for the teams as they work and for their encouragement in the face of adversity.
