USA (MNN/LPEA) — A weekend of faith and fun wrapped up yesterday as an estimated 200,000 people attended the Twin Cities Festival with Luis Palau at the State Capitol grounds in St. Paul.
The free, family-friendly festival brought to Minnesota some of Christian music’s most honored artists (Point of Grace, Stacie Orrico, Hezekiah Walker, Jump 5), a VeggieTales children’s area, Sports Zone, and a massive custom-built skate park featuring world-class extreme sports athletes.
World evangelist Luis Palau, whose “Great Music & Good News” festivals have drawn crowds of up to a half million people around the world, shared a message targeted at young people and families.
The event capped a week of activities that included luncheons for women and business/civic leaders as well as community outreach collections for local food banks.
Actor Stephen Baldwin, who recently directed an action sports DVD for the Palau ministry, told his story of coming to faith, as did Minnesota twins star Corey Koskie.
The Twin Cities Festival concluded Sunday with Casting Crowns, TobyMac, and Third Day.
