Sources say hotly disputed issues and fears of electoral violence in the run-up to next year’s vote have left a growing uneasiness. Walk Through the Bible’s Terry Sparks says despite the tension, they hope the launch of the ‘Prayer of Jabez’ will bring peace before the violence. “Even Muslims pray. Even Hindus pray. And so, since the topic is prayer, the message has wide application and basically allows us to draw the net wide and then bring them in and slowly introduce the deeper courses and the ones that are more directly New Testament.” Sparks says excitement over the possibilities brings a prayer need to the forefront. “We would still pray for safety. Our prayer is that ten-thousand pastors will actually come, and that we’ll be able to train a thousand to teach the ‘Prayer of Jabez’.”
